British Airways flight BA169 arrived at Shanghai Pudong International Airport from London at 7:55 am on April 24, marking the resumption of its passenger flights to the Chinese mainland.

According to the airline, it will operate daily flights between London's Heathrow Airport and Shanghai Pudong International Airport, with respective flight numbers BA169 and BA168.

The service is one of the many international ones that have resumed or increased their frequency at Shanghai airport since Jan 8, when China lifted some restrictions on international passenger flights.

Shanghai's Pudong and Hongqiao airports have now opened flights to 56 destinations in 32 countries and regions. With the upcoming May Day holiday, Pudong Airport is expected to welcome 13 domestic and foreign airlines to resume and increase their international flights.

Among them, Virgin Atlantic Airways will resume the Pudong-Heathrow, London route on May 2, Garuda Indonesia will resume the Pudong-Jakarta, Indonesia route in the near future – and Air China, KLM and Air New Zealand will all increase their flights to Europe and to Oceania destinations to one flight per day.
