The communication base station was stolen, and the Wenzhou project department of Bafang Telecom assisted the police in quickly solving the case
At around 4:20 am on April 16, 2024, the Wenzhou Unicom network management monitoring platform showed that there was a low-voltage power outage alarm reported in Nansong Town, Cangnan County, Wenzhou City, which lasted for an hour without recovery. So, around 6am, Li Guangbao, the head of the Cangnan project department of Bafang Telecom Wenzhou, received a call from the network administrator informing him that there was a power outage at the site. After verifying with the power company, it was confirmed that there was no planned power outage in the area. He then organized wireless maintenance personnel to bring oil engines to the scene.
After arriving at the scene, repair worker Luo Qingfeng was shocked to find that the door of the computer room had been deliberately damaged, and important equipment such as grounding bronze plates, various equipment grounding cables, wireless RF transmission equipment, and telecommunications cabinet carrier frequencies inside the computer room had all been stolen. According to preliminary estimates, the loss caused by this theft is worth approximately 80000 yuan.
After receiving the alarm, the police in Cangnan County quickly rushed to the scene, took photos to collect evidence, and inquired in detail about the specific situation of Luo Qingfeng. Due to the location of the crime scene on a remote mountain and the lack of surveillance equipment coverage in the surrounding area, it undoubtedly poses great challenges to public security investigation work. However, Cangnan police did not shrink back from this, actively faced the difficulties, mobilized capable police to strengthen the comprehensive analysis of the case, and vowed to capture the suspect who destroyed the communication base station. The Cangnan police retrieved surveillance footage from the intersection of uphill and downhill roads, searched for vehicles entering and exiting the area during the same time period, and obtained video data from the car owner's dashcam. With the unremitting efforts of the police officers, they finally found traces of the suspect in the data of dozens of driving recorders.
After a series of careful investigation and tracking, the police gradually locked in the suspect, who was a couple from Putian, Fujian. These "male and female thieves" are cunning and have a wide range of movements, covering Lianjiang, Fuding, Wenzhou and other places, committing crimes crazily in Zhejiang and Fujian, but they ultimately did not escape the sight of the Cangnan police. Under the precise control of the Cangnan police, they were successfully arrested and brought to justice, marking a successful conclusion to the theft of the communication base station case.
This successful case not only demonstrates the determination of our Wenzhou project department to actively participate in the daily maintenance work of China Unicom's base stations, but also demonstrates our firm attitude of zero tolerance towards criminal behavior. All maintenance staff of the Wenzhou project department will continue to strengthen their awareness of safety precautions and actively maintain the normal operation of Wenzhou Unicom's communication facilities.
