Background Introduction
Yangshan Phase IV automated terminal was opened for trial operation on December 10, 2017. It is located to the south of Donghai Bridge and on the westernmost part of Yangshan Deep-water Port, and sits on the reclaimed land from the sea, with a total land area of 2.23 million m2. Yangshan Phase IV automated terminal has 7 container berths, with a quay length of 2350 meters and average water depth of 15.5 meters at the wharf apron. The designed annual throughput is 6.3 million TEU.
Introduction to Scheme Application
Overall Improvement of Work Efficiency
The annual throughput per 100-meter quay of Yangshan Phase IV has reached 268,000 TEU. By the end of April 2021, the accumulative throughput has reached 11.26 million TEU. A single quay crane has the highest throughput of 57.17 TEU per hour and 47.33 TEU per hour for a single vessel, and the highest throughput for one day and night can reach 20,823.25 TEU, which is far higher than other terminals of the equal scale in the world.
Deep Optimization of Operation Process
Yangshan Phase IV has replaced traditional manual decision-making mode with the entire-process intelligent planning and scheduling module of ITOS, making it possible to reform the traditional command and control mode of the whole terminal and improve the level of intelligence. The fully automatic equipment control system based on intelligent perception is innovatively developed by Nezha to enable multi-mode loading and unloading operation of quay cranes. The way of reservation for entry of container truck improves the planning of terminal operation.
Sustainable Growth of Economic Benefits
By means of ITOS, the optimization of terminal operation process has been realized. Yangshan Phase IV has completed a total throughput of 9.49 million TEU from the opening in December 2017 to the end of 2020, with an annual profit rate increase of more than 5%. The ITOS solution helps the customer achieve both production efficiency and profit growth.
